2015 USA College Football D-II Preseason All-American, earning second team honors.

2014:  Started first nine games before missing final two games with an injury … had 34 tackles, with 13 solo … was tied for second on the team with 7.5 tackles for losses totaling 39 yards, and had a team-high 7 sacks … forced a team-high four fumbles, recovered one fumble, and knocked down one pass … led the PSAC and ranked fourth in Division II in forced fumbles, and was 8th in the conference and 35th nationally in sacks … had one sack in each of the first six games … posted season-high 7 tackles in season-opener at Carson-Newman, forcing a pair of fumbles and recording a sack … added 6 tackles vs. Indiana(Pa.).

2013:  Played in 10 games with five starts at defensive end … finished tied for seventh on the team in tackles with 45 … was third on the team in tackles for losses with 9.5 for minus 28 yards … had 2 sacks … had career-best game against Clarion, totaling 10 tackles, including 7 solo, with 4.5 for losses and a pair of sacks … added 6 tackles against California(Pa.) and 5 stops vs. Bloomsburg, Mercyhurst and Kutztown.

2012:  Played in all 10 games at defensive end, making three starts late in the year … totaled 16 tackles, with 2 tackles for losses and a sack … had season-high 6 tackles, with 2 tackles for losses and a sack at Slippery Rock … added 3 tackles vs. Mercyhurst.  

2011:  Redshirted.
HIGH SCHOOL:  Played for head coach Tom Goddard at Clarence High School … helped lead the Devils to a 10-1 record and the Section VI Class AA championship as a senior … earned All-New York and All-Western New York and was the 2010 Defensive MVP … nominated for the Trench Award … named Shane Conlan Linebacker of the Year … had 106 tackles and 6 sacks as a senior … named Defensive MVP in 2011 All-Star Classic Game … also played one year of lacrosse. 

PERSONAL:  Born January 23, 1993 … Marketing major … son of Deborah and Duane Principal … has two brothers, including Anthony, a junior linebacker on the Fighting Scots, and Nicholas.
