EDINBORO, Pa. (May 15, 2012) – The Edinboro University track & field teams will have a pair of competitors in next week’s NCAA Division II Track & field Championships.  Tabitha Bemis will represent the women’s team and Scott Anderson has qualified for the men.  The championships will be held Thursday, May 24 through Saturday, May 25 at the Neta & Eddie DeRose ThunderBowl in Pueblo, Colorado. Colorado State University at Pueblo will serve as the host.

EDINBORO, Pa. (May 9, 2012) – Some day Lindsey Evans will be the answer to a trivia question at Edinboro.  The junior from Rochester, NY today became Edinboro’s first-ever All-PSAC performer in women’s lacrosse, as she was named to the 2012 All-PSAC Women’s Lacrosse Second Team.

EDINBORO, Pa. – Several members of the women’s swimming team recently took part in the 11^th Annual Walk for Autism on April 28.  The swimmers raised funds which were donated to the Autism Society and walked around campus promoting the event in their Autism Walk t-shirts. 

EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ (May 5, 2012) – A week ago former Edinboro University wrestling standout Josh Koscheck was being inducted into the Edinboro Athletic Hall of Fame.  On Saturday night he was at the Izod Center in New Jersey fighting in one of the co-feature bouts of the UFC on Fox on national television.  He would suffer a split decision loss in a welterweight fight to another former wrestling standout, Johny Hendricks, who starred at Oklahoma State.

(May 5, 2012) – The Edinboro men’s track & field team concluded a strong showing at the 2012 PSAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday at Bloomsburg University, ending up coming in sixth out of 13 teams.  Scott Anderson paced the final day of competition as he won the 1,500-meter run.

(May 5, 2012) – Edinboro University sophomore Tabitha Bemis was named the Most Outstanding Field Athlete and Most Outstanding Overall Athlete at the 2012 PSAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships.  The event concluded on Saturday at Bloomsburg University, with the sophomore winning the two awards after previously doing so at the indoor championships in February.

BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – Edinboro University junior Dustin Thomas (Broadview Heights, OH/ North Royalton) has been presented with the PSAC Champion Scholar Award for the men’s outdoor track & field championship. He was presented the award on Saturday morning prior to the start of competition of the third day of the PSAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Bloomsburg University by Millersville Associate Director of Athletics Dr Anthony Grant, the PSAC track liaison.

BLOOMSBURG, Pa. (May 4, 2012) – Ben Hahn led the men’s track and field team with a victory in the 5,000 meter run, earning All-PSAC honors as well, finishing the competition in a time of 14:46.75, a full thirteen seconds ahead of Stephen Schelander of Shippensburg.  Hahn’s victory, running away from the approaching storm, was the fourth of the tournament for the Fighting Scots.  Edinboro currently is in second overall with 32 points, trailing the Red Raiders of Shippensburg who have a total of 56 points through two days of competition.

BLOOMSBURG, Pa. (May 4, 2012) – Tabitha Bemis earned a first place finish and All-PSAC honors in the long jump and her jump of 6.13 meters was third in the Division II.   Bemis also qualified for tomorrow’s final while setting a school record and becoming a national qualifier in the 100-meter hurdles after finishing second in today’s prelims with a time of 14.22 which was just .03 seconds behind Caitlin Stuetz of Shippensburg.

            BLOOMSBURG, Pa. (May 3, 2012) – Edinboro University’s Bryan Deibel took home the first championship of the 2012 PSAC Track & Field Championships on Thursday night.  The sophomore posted a 12-second victory over Lock Haven’s Alex Monroe in the 10,000-meter run at Bloomsburg’s Redman Stadium.

The Fighting Scots are looking to build on not just the strong Outdoor season but also on the strong showing as a team the Fighting Scots exhibited at the PSAC Indoor Track and Field Championships back in February.  Edinboro will feature multiple athletes who have excellent chances of scoring and earning quality results, including Tabitha Bemis, Kacey Gibson, Stephanie Smigiera and Kat Faller.  The PSAC Track and Field Championships will run from Thursday, May 3 – Saturday May 5 on the campus of Bloomsburg University. 

EDINBORO, Pa. (May 1, 2012) – The Edinboro men’s track and field team heads to the PSAC Track and Field Championships hosted by Bloomsburg University this weekend with multiple goals in mind.  For some runners like Scott Anderson, the two-time All-American in Cross Country, and Ben Hahn, the reigning 5,000-meter All-American, having already qualified for Nationals, the PSAC Championships will be used as tune-up.   Other athletes will look to improve off close finishes from last year’s competition, such as Jordan Roose, who came in second place in the steeplechase in 2011.  The PSAC Track and Field Championships will run from Thursday, May 3 – Saturday May 5 on the campus of Bloomsburg University.

(May 1, 2012) – Three members of the Edinboro University softball team have earned spots on the 2012 All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division first team, conference officials announced Tuesday.  Juniors Ashley Black (Waterford, PA/Fort LeBoeuf), Kari Falk (Fombell, PA/ Riverside) and Marissa Pullo (Tonawanda, NY/Holy Angels Academy) (left) were selected following standout seasons.

(April 28, 2012) -- The Edinboro University Athletic Hall of Fame celebrated its 31^st year with the induction of eight new members on Saturday, April 28.  The eight new members swelled the Edinboro Hall of Fame membership to 211 inductees.  The Class of 2012 was formally inducted at the 31^st Annual Hall of Fame Awards Ceremony at McComb Fieldhouse.

EDINBORO, Pa. (April 28, 2012) – The Edinboro University Athletic Department recognized its 2012 Senior Male and Female Athletes of the Year and Coach of the Year on Saturday, April 28 at the 31^st Annual Hall of Fame Ceremony.  Women’s basketball coach Stan Swank was named Edinboro’s Coach of the Year, while women’s basketball standout Renee’ Brown (Pittsburgh, PA/Mount Alvernia Cathlic) was selected the Nancy Acker Award recipient as the Senior Female Athlete of the Year and Chris Honeycutt (North Ridgeville, OH/St. Edward) was selected the Sox Harrison Award winner as the Senior Male Athlete of the Year.

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (April 27, 2012) – Edinboro’s Tabitha Bemis continued her outstanding season in track & field with another strong showing at the Penn Relays on Friday.  After taking fifth place in the College Women’s Long Jump Eastern on Thursday, she followed up with an eighth place showing in the College Women’s Triple Jump Eastern on Friday. 

            PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (April 26, 2012) – The Edinboro track & field teams’ contingent of competitors at the Penn Relays turned in a strong showing in the first day of competition on Thursday.  Leading the way was Scott Anderson (left), who turned in a fourth place finish while competing in the College Men’s 10,000-meter Championship late Thursday night.  His time of 29:41.31 was the best recorded in the PSAC this year, bettering the previous mark of teammate Ben Hahn.  Hahn just set the mark of 30:00.74 at the Mt. Sac Relays a week earlier.

EDINBORO, Pa. (April 26, 2012) – Senior Abbey Mackessy led the Fighting Scots with three goals on the afternoon giving her a career total 100 goals in her three years of play for Edinboro. Mackessy leaves the Fighting Scots as the programs all-time leading scorer.  The Fighting Scots however could not pull out the victory on Senior Day against Slippery Rock, falling 10-7.  Edinboro says farewell to five seniors; Abbey Mackessy, Samantha Kaiser, Lauren Kincaid, Lauren Davis and Teresa Fiori.

(April 24, 2012) – The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference announced the 2012 All-PSAC Tennis Teams today, with the Edinboro men’s tennis team coming away with two of the major awards.  Head coach Lee Underwood (left) was named the PSAC Men’s Tennis Coach of the Year while Kevin Caldwell (Hudson, OH/Hudson) was selected the PSAC Men’s Tennis Freshman of the Year.

ERIE, Pa. (April 22, 2012) – The Edinboro softball team saw its season come to a close on Sunday afternoon as Gannon posted victories of 3-0 and 5-3 to eliminate the Fighting Scots from playoff contention.

Berea, OH (April 21, 2012) – The Fighting Scots track teams took home five first place finishes  and six new PSAC Outdoor Track and Field Championship qualifying times at the Sparky Adams Invitational hosted by Baldwin-Wallace College.  Brianne Dietrich grabbed two PSAC qualifying marks, with her fourth place finish in the 100 meter dash (12.59 seconds) and first place in the Long Jump (5.21 meters).  The long distance crew for the Men’s team performed well in the 10,000 meter run with Dustin Thomas (2nd, 31:55.06), Bart Eckel (3rd, 32:18.92) and Sean Naderer (4th, 32:40.63) all earning PSAC qualifying times.

EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – Abbey Mackessy tied the school record with seven goals and added an assist to lead Edinboro to a 14-13 win at East Stroudsburg in a PSAC lacrosse match on Saturday afternoon.   The win boosted the Fighting Scots to 7-9 overall and 2-8 in the PSAC, the most PSAC victories in school history.  The Warrors are now 4-11 and 2-8, respectively.

BLOOMSBURG, Pa. (April 21, 2012) – The Edinboro men’s tennis team concluded its season with a fourth place finish at the PSAC Team Championships on Saturday.  The fourth seed Fighting Scots dropped a 5-4 decision to Millersville, the third seed, in the third place match, ending the year at 11-14.  Millersville finished at 4-11.

WALNUT, Cal. (April 20, 2012) – Edinboro University junior Scott Anderson turned in the top time in the PSAC in the 5000-meter run while competing in the 54^th Annual Mt. Sac Relays on Friday night.  Anderson turned in a time of 14:04.34 while competing in the University/College Division against some of the top runners in the country.  That time was good for tenth in the event, and is also an NCAA provisional qualifying time.  David Rooney of McNeese State was the top finisher with a time of 13:53.04.  Twenty-nine runners competed in the event.

BLOOMSBURG, Pa. (April 20, 2012) – Top-seeded Bloomsburg moved on to the PSAC Men's Team Championship finals with a 5-0 win over fourth-seeded Edinboro on Friday afternoon.  The Huskies won all three doubles matches and clinched the semifinal win with wins at number two and four singles.

(April 20, 2012) – The Edinboro women’s lacrosse team was unable to withstand a strong second half by host Bloomsburg on Friday afternoon, suffering a 16-6 loss to the Huskies in a PSAC match.  The loss dropped the Fighting Scots to 6-9 overall and 1-8 in the PSAC.  Bloomsburg evened its record at 7-7, and is now 5-4 in league play.

            EDINBORO, Pa. – The Edinboro men’s tennis team will open up action in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Team Tennis Championship on Friday, April 20, facing Bloomsburg in the semifinals.  The Huskies come in as the number one seed while Edinboro is the fourth seed.

EDINBORO, Pa. – The Edinboro University Student Athlete Advisory Committee hosted the Fourth Annual Student-Athlete Auction on Wednesday, April 18.  The event featured 27 individuals auctioned off, including Director of Athletics Bruce Baumgartner.  All proceeds raised benefited the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Wheeling, WV (April 17, 2012) – Shelby Will and Kaitlin Magee each tallied three goals and two assists as Edinboro defeated Wheeling Jesuit 17-7 on Tuesday afternoon, earning its sixth win of the season and setting a new school record for total wins in one campaign. MENTOR, Oh. (Apr. 15, 2012) – The Edinboro women’s tennis team concluded its season with a 9-0 win over Lake Erie on Sunday.  The victory left the Fighting Scots with an 8-17 record, while Lake Erie fell to 0-15. 

MENTOR, Oh. (Apr. 15, 2012) – The Edinboro men’s tennis team will enter PSAC postseason action on a winning note after handing Lake Erie a 9-0 defeat on Sunday.  The Fighting Scots, who on Saturday qualified as the fourth seed in the PSAC Tournament, improved to 11-12 while dropping Lake Erie to 0-13.

LEWISBURG, Pa. (April 14, 2012)—While some of the Edinboro track & field team was competing in Slippery Rock, some of coach Doug Watts’ top performers were competing in the Bucknell Bison Outdoor Classic.    Two turned in outstanding performances.  Scott Anderson posted a national qualifying time in the 1500-meter run, finishing fifth in the event with a time of 3:48.80.  That is good for the fourth-fastest time in Division II.  Kacey Gibson finished with an NCAA provisional time in the 10,000-meter run with a time of 36:35.24.  Finally, Bryan Deibel placed 13^th in the 5,000-meter run.  His time was 14:38.94, just missing out on a national qualifying time.

KUTZTOWN, Pa.(April 14, 2012) – The Edinboro men’s tennis team lost the second of its two matches on a swing to the east on Saturday, suffering a 9-0 loss at Kutzown.  The defeat dropped the Fighting Scots to 10-12, while the Golden Bears improved to 2-9.  However, Edinboro still clinched the fourth and final spot in the upcoming PSAC Tournament with a 2-3 league mark.  The Fighting Scots are the number four seed.  Bloomsburg is the number one seed at 5-0, with Kutztown second (4-1) and Millersville third (2-3).

West Chester, Pa. (April 14, 2012) – The Fighting Scots took to the road to face the PSAC-leading West Chester Golden Rams on Saturday afternoon, and fell by a final score of 18-8.  The loss dropped the Fighting Scots to 5-8 on the year and 1-7 in the PSAC.  The Golden Rams, ranked ninth in the latest Division II rankings, improved to 10-1 overall and 7-1 in the PSAC.

KUTZTOWN, Pa. (April 13, 2012) – Edinboro’s Steve Paternostro finished second in the decathlon at the Mondscheim Multi’s on Friday at Kutztown University.  The event took place on Thursday and Friday.  He would fall just 16 points shy of Moravian’s Nicco Dalpiaz, who took first place.  Dalpiaz finished with 6,211 points while Paternostro ended with 6,195 points.  Paternostro won the 400-meter run.

                On the women’s side, Stephanie Smigiera was leading the heptathlon on Thursday when she reinjured her leg in the long jump and was pulled from the competition.  Brianne Dietrich would finish ninth with 3,521 points.  However, she would have place much higher but fell in the 100-meter hurdles and did not finish, ending with zero points.  She won the 200-meters and was second in the triple jump.

MILLERSVILLE, Pa.(April 13, 2012) – The Edinboro men’s tennis team lost the first of its two matches on a swing to the east on Friday afternoon, suffering a narrow 5-4 loss at Millersville.  The defeat dropped the Fighting Scots to 10-11, while the Marauders improved to 2-9.  Millersville was able to rally for the win with four wins in singles play.  The Fighting Scots play at Kutztown on Saturday.

BUCKHANNON, WV – The Edinboro men’s tennis team saw its record fall to 9-10 with a 9-0 loss at West Virginia Wesleyan on Saturday.  The Bobcats improved to 8-2 while winning every singles match in straight sets.

OBERLIN, Oh. – The Edinboro men’s track and field team finished second out of three teams at the Bob Kahn Invitational hosted by Oberlin College on Saturday. Oberlin took home the title with 263 points, with Edinboro second with 140 points.  Wooster (103) was third.

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Make it three straight devastating losses for the Edinboro softball team. After seeing Gannon rally for two runs in the top of the seventh for a 2-1 win on Thursday in game number two, the Fighting Scots dropped a doubleheader at Shippensburg on Saturday, losing 3-2 and 1-0 in nine innings.  Edinboro falls to 12-14 while Shippensburg is now 14-18.

EDINBORO, Pa. – Playing for the second time in two days, the banged-up Edinboro women’s lacrosse team saw a late rally fall just short in an 11-10 loss to Kutztown in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference match on Saturday afternoon at Sox Harrison Stadium.  The loss dropped the Fighting Scots to 5-7 on the year and 1-6 in the PSAC.  Kutztown picked up its first league win of the year, as the Golden Bears are now 1-6 and 5-7 overall.

ELKINS, WV -- The Edinboro men's tennis team saw its record even out at 9-9 on Friday afternoon with a 6-3 loss at Davis & Elkins.  D&E improved to 5-9. The Fighting Scots found themselves behind after losing all three doubles matches before coming back to win in the last three singles matches. 

ELKINS, WV -- The Edinboro women's tennis team came within a win of snapping a seven-match losing skid on Friday afternoon before falling at Davis & Elkins, 5-4.  The loss dropped the Fighting Scots to 6-16, while the Senators improved to 6-12. The Fighting Scots won at number one and two doubles, but could come up with just two wins at singles, as Angela Pelehac won at number two singles and RyAnne' Baldwin won at number three singles.  In particular, the Boro suffered a tough loss at number one singles as Oranza Carrillo lost in three sets 7-6 (4), 2-6, 7-6 (8).

EDINBORO, Pa. -- The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference today announced the PSAC Winter Top Ten Award winners for 2011-12, with Edinboro’s Tabitha Bemis (Fair Oaks, PA/Quaker Valley) among the five women selected.  The PSAC Top Ten recognizes five men and five women in the spring, winter and fall for excellence in the classroom and on the playing field.  The nominees must have a minimum of a 3.50 cumulative grade point average.  Voting is conducted among the PSAC’s sports information directors.

Indiana, PA (April 3, 2012) – The Edinboro Fighting Scots fell to the PSAC leading Crimson Hawks of Indiana (Pa.) 14-6 , evening the Fighting Scots record to 5-5 overall and 1-4 in the PSAC.  Alexa Lodovici led all scorers with six goals on the afternoon and Chelsey Hipp made nine saves in net to earn the victory.  IUP moves to 8-1 overall on the season and remains perfect in conference play at 5-0.  Shannon Rohrich netted three goals for Edinboro to increase her season total to 25.

EDINBORO, Pa. (April 3, 2012) – California (Pa.) slugged its way to a doubleheader sweep over Edinboro on Tuesday afternoon, posting wins of 13-1 and 9-0 in PSAC West action.

EDINBORO, Pa. (April 3, 2012) – The Edinboro football team will open up spring drills on Wednesday, April 4.  Over the next four weeks head coach Scott Browning and his staff will run his team through 15 practices, concluding on Saturday, April 28.

EDINBORO, Pa. -- The Edinboro women's tennis team was finally able to take to the newly-refurbished courts on-campus on Monday, but 29th-ranked Indiana(Pa.) spoiled the experience, handing the Fighting Scots a 9-0 defeat.  The loss leaves Edinboro at 6-14, while IUP is 12-6.  The Fighting Scots will play for the fourth straight day on Tuesday, hosting Clarion.

ERIE, Pa. (April 1, 2012) -- The Edinboro women's tennis team suffered a 6-3 loss to visiting Fairmont State on Sunday afternoon at the Westwood Racquet Club.  The loss leaves the Fighting Scots at 6-13, while the Fighting Falcons improved to 12-7.  Edinboro is back in action on Monday, hosting Indiana(Pa.) in a match that was originally scheduled for Friday but postponed due to the weather. 

ERIE, Pa. (April 1, 2012) - It might have been April Fool's Day, but the Edinboro men's tennis team wasn't in a joking mood.  The Fighting Scots improved to 9-8 on the season with a 9-0 win over visiting Fairmont State on Sunday at the Westwood Racquet Club.  The Fighting Falcons fell to 0-4 with the loss. 

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. (March 31, 2012) -- The Edinboro women's tennis team saw its record fall to 6-12 on Saturday afternoon as it suffered back-to-back 9-0 losses at Slippery Rock to trhe 39th-ranked SRU squad and West Virginia State.

Wooster, OH (March 30, 2012) – The Edinboro Women’s Track and Field team saw two women gain qualification for the PSAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships this afternoon at the Wooster Invitational on the campus of Wooster College.  Elizabeth Budzinzki took first place and qualified in the 1,500m run with a time of 4:53.41 and teammate Alexis Petrosky took first and qualified in the triple jump with a jump of 10.60m.

Wooster, OH (March 30, 2012) – Four Fighting Scots claimed a PSAC Outdoor Track and Field Qualifying mark while competing at the Wooster Invitational on the campus of Wooster College.  Dylan Stevens earned a PSAC qualifier and took first place in the 1,500m run with a time of 4:00.44.  Steve Paternostro was another first place winner for Edinboro and PSAC qualifier with a victory in the 110m hurdles (15.90).

Raleigh, NC (March 30-31, 2012) – The Men's Track and Field team saw Scott Anderson and Ben Hahn set two NCAA provisional marks today at the Raleigh Relays hosted on the campus of North Carolina State, both coming in the 5,000m run section II race.  Anderson finished in fifth place with a time of 14:11.09, setting a new personal record and the second fast time in DII this year. Hahn took 17th and timed at 14:32.57. 

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. (March 30, 2012) – The Edinboro softball team evened its conference record with a doubleheader sweep of Slippery Rock by holding on for a 6-4 win in the opener before a convincing 7-1 decision.

(March 30, 2012) – The Edinboro women’s lacrosse team lost a narrow 9-6 decision to visiting Shippensburg on Friday afternoon at Sox Harrison Stadium in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference match.  The loss evens Edinboro’s record at 4-4, and the Fighting Scots are now 0-3 in the PSAC.  Shippensburg improved to 5-2 and 1-1, respectively.

(March 29, 2012) –- Former Edinboro quarterback Trevor Harris’ quest to become an NFL quarterback has taken another turn, as the Toronto Argonauts today announced the signing of Harris to a contract with the Canadian Football League team.  Harris has signed a contract through the 2014 season.

EDINBORO, Pa. – The Edinboro women’s lacrosse team rallied from a second-half deficit with five straight goals to post-a come-from-behind 13-10 win on Wednesday afternoon at Sox Harrison Stadium.  The victory boosted the Fighting Scots to 4-3, one shy of the school record for wins set last year.  Tiffin fell to 1-8.

EDINBORO, Pa. – The Edinboro University wrestling team captured all three of the major postseason awards announced by the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference on Wednesday.  Chris Honeycutt (North Ridgeville, OH/St. Edward) was named the PSAC Wrestler of the Year, A.J. Schopp (Tyrone, PA/Tyrone) was selected the PSAC Freshman of the Year, and Tim Flynn was recognized as the PSAC Coach of the Year.

EDINBORO, Pa. (March 28, 2012) – Edinboro University juniors Kiara Brown (Ambridge, PA/Ambridge) (left) and Samantha Blazetic (Eastlake, OH/Eastlake North) have been named Division II Bulletin All-Americans.  Brown earned a spot on the fourth team while Blazetic was accorded honorable mention honors.  In addition, head coach Stan Swank was selected the PSAC West Coach of the Year.

EDINBORO, Pa. – The Edinboro University women’s basketball team finished the 2011-12 season with its highest national ranking, as the Fighting Scots concluded the year ninth in the USA Today/ESPN Division II Top 25.  The Fighting Scots finished the 2010-11 campaign ranked 25th and beagn the 2011-12 season ranked 23rd.

                CALIFORNIA, Pa. – The Edinboro women’s tennis team ran up against one of the top teams in Division II and came away with a 9-0 loss at 11^th-ranked California(Pa.).  The loss dropped the Fighting Scots to 6-10, while the Vulcans are now 12-5.  Angela Pelehac was the only player to post a point in singles action with a 6-1, 6-1 loss to 31^st-ranked Jade Pondihacs at number two singles.  Pelehac and Oranza Carrillo lost by an 8-1 score at number one doubles.

ERIE, Pa. (March 24, 2102) – The Edinboro men’s tennis team’s outdoor season opener had to be moved indoors on Saturday due to rain, and Bloomsburg proved rude guests as the Huskies handed the Fighting Scots an 8-1 defeat at Westwood Racquet Club.  The loss evened Edinboro’s record at 8-8, while Bloomsburg is now 8-2.

(March 23, 2102) – The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference today announced the 2012 Indoor Track & Field award winners.  Edinboro University’s Tabitha Bemis (Fair Oaks, PA/Quaker Valley) has been named the Women’s Field Athlete of the Year.  It caps an incredible indoor season for the sophomore.

CLARION, Pa. (March 21, 2012) – Edinboro used a three-run third inning in the second game of a doubleheader at Clarion to earn a split with the Golden Eagles, taking a 5-2 victory in the nightcap after falling short, 4-3, in the opener.

            ERIE, Pa. – The Edinboro women’s lacrosse team opened Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference play on Tuesday afternoon.  The Fighting Scots battled Mercyhurst all day but in the end they were unable to catch the Lakers, falling by a 14-10 margin.  The loss evened Edinboro’s overall record at 2-2, while Mercyhurst is now 3-2 overall and 1-0 in the PSAC.

TROUTVILLE, Va. (March 18, 2012) – The Edinboro softball team completed its 10-day Southern trip with a dramatic rally to defeat Seton Hill, 7-6, on Sunday morning.

Aimee Sisson’s game-winning, two-out double to the right center field gap brought home Jessica VanDamia to conclude a string of three  two-base hits that scored a pair of runs and erased a seventh inning one-run deficit.

(March 17, 2012) – Chris Honeycutt’s quest for a national championship came up one victory short on Saturday night in St. Louis, as top-seeded Cam Simaz of Cornell won a 7-5 decision over the Edinboro standout.  The bout was part of the NCAA Division I Wrestling National Championships at the Scottrade Center.

LOUIS, Mo. – Senior Chris Honeycutt, seeded second, will look to become Edinboro’s fifth NCAA Division I national champion on Saturday night.  Honeycutt earned his ticket to the finals with a 6-3 decision in tiebreaker over EWL rival Matt Wilps of Pittsburgh in Friday night’s 197 lb. semifinal at the NCAA Division I Wrestling National Championships at the Scottrade Center, avenging his lone loss of the year.  Edinboro is in a tie for 12th place.

SALEM, Va. (March 16, 2012) – Edinboro swept its Friday doubleheader at the James Moyer Sports Complex by taking a convincing, 9-1 six inning win over West Virginia Wesleyan before outlasting Davis & Elkins, 4-2.

SALISBURY, NC (March 16, 2012) – Edinboro scored 15 of the final 16 goals to claim a 19-4 win at Catawba on Friday afternoon.  With the win the Fighting Scots improve to 2-0 for the second straight year, while the Indians are now 1-4. Edinboro will look to go to 3-0 for the first time in the program’s four-year history on Saturday, playing at Lenoir-Rhyne.

            ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Edinboro has five wrestlers alive after the first two sessions of the NCAA Division I Wrestling National Championships at the Scottrade Center.  The Nationals run Thursday through Saturday.  The Fighting Scots are currently in 17^th place.

            ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Here are Edinboro results after one round of the NCAA Division I Wrestling National Championships at the Scottrade Center.  The Nationals run Thursday through Saturday.  The Fighting Scots are tied for eighth with 11 points.

            EDINBORO, Pa. – The Edinboro men’s and women’s wheelchair basketball teams wrapped up the 2011-12 season this past weekend, competing in the 35^th Annual National Intercollegiate Wheelchair Basketball Tournament at the University of Illinois.  Both teams went 0-2 in the event, leaving the men with a final record of 4-26 and the women with a 2-26 record.

The men finished seventh at the NIWBT and the women fourth.

EDINBORO, Pa. – The Edinboro University athletic department held it’s the 23^rd Annual Scholar-Athlete Banquet on Monday, February 20 at Van Houten Dining Hall.  The event continues to grow each year, and this year’s event was no exception as it was attended by close to 250 people.
