EDINBORO, Pa. (Jan. 19, 2013) – A number of the Edinboro University Fighting Scots took advantage of the long holiday break on Friday, January 18 to spend some time with local students.  Members of the men's and women's basketball and men's and women's track and field teams visited the Edinboro Elementary School to read to students as part of Edinboro's Read to Compete Program.

Men's and women's track and field student-athletes Noelle Jurcak, Laura Sweeney, Tim McConnell and Dylan Stevens worked with first graders, while four members of the women's basketball team – Kiara Brown, Samantha Blazetic, Kerry Connolly and Laurel Lindsay – read to the second grade.

Bobby Davis, Bryan Theriot, Isaiah Prince and Johnathan Logan, all members of the men's basketball team, read to students in the third grade.
